FEEDBACK

Hi I'm John and I'm an alcoholic ("Hi John")

I've been in recovery for over ten years and things just weren't very exciting until I attended a Unity Day and saw  a "RecoverySkits.Com" skit and I laughed so hard that I didn't even realize that I was finally receiving the message of "Recovery, Unity and Service" while having the time of my life.

I have since become a regular performer in many "RecoverySkits.Com" productions and I'm carrying the message, having a great time, and most of all, staying sober.

Hi Tony,

I'm Mitch, an Alcoholic & Group Secretary from the

Central West of New South Wales, Australia, a lovely

place called Coonabarabran.

Recently we had an Area Assembly where a few of the

gang performed the "AA CSI" skit. We all thought it

was fantastic. Keep up the great work!

In Recovery,

Good Day Tony!

I just briefly perused your website, and I have to say thank you!  What a great and sincere way of carrying on the 12th step.  I have been in the program for 21 months and happily sober all 21 months.  It amazes me how the program works and how it brings strangers together to be open and honest with each other.  It also amazes me that I can be happy and content without alcohol, which I drank every day for 34 years before I could admit to being an alcoholic.

I will happily tell others of your amusing, entertaining, and definitely helpful site.

Regards,

A thankful recovering alcoholic,

Joe S.

Hello again Tony!

I just wanted to follow up and let you know that we did the "Sponsoring Game" skit for our annual women's Back to Basics workshop in Rushville, IN and it was a HUGE hit!

Everyone loved it and several people asked me for your website address.

We'll be doing that skit again at one of our local special events and plan on doing a new one next year for Back to Basics.

Thanks so much again for your sober creativity.

In the fellowship,

Theresa C.

Hi Tony,

In September, I was elected to serve the English-speaking Tokyo Intergroup as the Alt. Chair for the next two years. We held a workshop two weeks ago, and we used one of your plays (the Mafia one) and adapted it to the fellowship here in Japan…namely the JSO Family, Tokyo English Intergroup Family, The Japanese AA Family, and the English AA Family. It was very, very well received, and I thank you for providing the inspiration. I’m sure we’ll be trying out a couple of more at our next workshop.

On a related note, my home group is actually a Japanese group that meets five nights per week, each time in a different city. When the district was planning a workshop for the 21st of this month, I almost had them convinced of doing the CSI-AA play, but in Japanese. However, since I’m not going to be there, and we were too late in the planning, it won’t happen this time. Definitely next time!! Want to come to Japan and see it performed in Japanese? For you it will be like watching a dubbed movie!

You are thought of and deeply appreciated here in Japan.

Hi Tony,

My name is Kyle and I too am an alcoholic.  I would like to thank you for setting up this website. Tonight May 10, 2008 we are having a service workshop and have based around a dinner, skit, ask it basket with an ice cream social.  We as a district looked through and decided on your Charlie Brown skit.  Even though tonight is the first time we will perform the skit in front of anyone, we have already been asked to perform the skit this fall at our area's Fall Conference.  I just felt that you should know about this and once again thank you for your wonderful parody based on recovery.

Your humble friend and fellow alcoholic

Kyle S.

Tony, your skits are awesome!!  We did Gilligan's Island for a dinner
we had in the fall and turned out great.

Thanks for all you do!!  Keep trudging.

I wanted to send you some feedback on a couple of your skits. I am a member of Overeaters Anonymous and the last two years, we have used your skits for our conventions. Last year, we did "The Sponsoring Game" and this year, we turned "You're an Alcoholic, Charlie Brown!" to "You're a Compulsive Overeater, Charlie Brown!" Both skits were a big hit. The beauty of your plays is that the message is the same, no matter which addiction we have. Thank you for writing such wonderful skits.

Hi, I’m Shelley and a grateful member of Al-Anon.

Our Al-Anon district did a District workshop on sponsorship yesterday.  I was one of the main organizers of the workshop.  We wanted to do a skit about sponsorship, but couldn’t find any Al-Anon ones, even after contacting our Al-Anon World Service Office.

So . . . . .    I found your site.  With just a few modifications, your skit titled “The Interview” worked wonderfully.  The skit was simple to do, needed no costumes and very few props.

Oh my goodness!
This skit went over so well!
The laughs started with the introduction of what the skit was about, and continued through the Secretary being fired.

I’m still laughing today about the ninth phone call to Myrtle.

Hugs in program,

Shelley

Hi, hope you don’t mind that we performed one of your skits – “we” meaning District 4 of Marijuana Anonymous.  I held a July 4th party at my house, which is near a place where you can see the fireworks over Seattle.  Since it gets dark so late here in the summer, fireworks shows don’t start until after ~10:30, so I had to find a way to keep people amused between dinner and the fireworks.

I had to change all the AA references to MA references, but it worked out great.  We didn’t do any rehearsals and just read it cold, and the results were hilarious!  As well, the story had a good message.

I’m glad I found your web site, and I really appreciate this great resource you have.  Seattle is hosting the 2009 MA International Convention, and we had so much fun we had requests to do some of these skits at the convention.

Best regards,

Jeff W
